Journal images

One of my favorite kinds of art I enjoy making is my journal entries. It gives me a chance to just play and be more creative more than drawing illustrations and characters. With combining different materials together I find new designs and developed a sense of visual communication. I just feel like I enjoy the creative process more. So, here are some of those entries in the journals.

Dr. Sketchy November Session

I am just now getting around to posting this. Last month Dr. Sketchy Cincinnati had artist Mike Maydak model with a guest model with him. It was a lot of fun. It was the first time any model wore an elephants head or any kind of mascot head. The elephant with fuzz woman was a hilarious combo. I enjoyed it a lot. Here are pictures and a sketch from last months Dr. Sketchy.

Ice Cream Daydream Mural Downtown

Photo from Enquirer- Artworks

Went yesterday downtown to 12th Street to check out the revealing of the new mural directed by Amanda Checco with Artworks. I have to say that his is now my favorite of the murals. I just love the colors and playfulness of this one the most. It's a nice colorful trippy giant illustration with fun animals, ice cream treats, jewelry with like a vector style to it.. There is over a dozen murals in the downtown area. Most of them in the Over-the-Rhine district. I think it would be just fun to take a group to just walk around to each of the murals as part of an art walk. I will have to send that out to see if anyone is interested. There is a map on the Artwork website as well.
So, if anyone is interested in doing that, hit me up then.
Otherwise, if you are downtown I really recommend you stop by this one.
It's located at 33 E. 12th Street right to the side of the Eden Floral Boutique at the parking lot.

Opening Reception: Comfortably Constipated

I will be having an opening reception called Comfortably Constipated on Saturday, August 14th from 7–11 p.m.
Please join me for this installment of my artwork at Fabricate in Northside. Located at 4012 Hamilton Ave. Northside Cincinnati, 45223

As a first solo show of my work I will have a variety of pieces ranging from collages, illustrations, paintings and assemblage found objects that collectively tell a story of past and present culture, which is completed with some humor attached. ...Hence forth the title is presenting a subject range that is purposefully opening your mind to being curious to what makes Brennan Bradford's work unique, if not a little odd fun to the mix.

I am presented this great opportunity to show my work at this awesome store residing in Northside, owned and operated by Aileen McGrath and Christina Salley. Fabricate has made a great addition to the community in Northside, that sells a great range of handmade products of stitched robots, silk screened t-shirts, prints, handmade jewelry, and many many more. Added to that as well are my handmade wallets, handmade papers and prints of my illustrations .

I hope you will all join me and the folks from Fabricate for the reception.

http://www.fabnorthside.com/

Fabricate's show will accompanied by PROJECTMILL DJ’s and potable beverages.
Afterwards, follow everyone down to Mayday for the Fabricate after-party featuring You, You’re Awesome and Moon Pool & Dead Band (Detroit, MI).

Ready. Set! Go!

Things are pretty much ready for Fabricate show in August. I finished my altered assemblage found object pieces.
I have a few more prints to have made. But other than that I think I am set. I believe a lot of people will be satisfied with what I have. I am going to show some old pieces as well. I figure there will be a lot of folks who never seen my work before, so it will make sense to reshow them. I am not really concern about selling my work. I will just be happy with being on display there. I should get the post cards to give to folks and to have sent out soon.
This is a great opportunity for me. A lot of the shows I have been to at Fabricate have produced a lot of amazing things. Which has drawn a lot of crowds. If you are not on facebook and want to get a reminder, feel free to email me at brennan2bb@gmail.com.

Chris Sickels (Red Nose Studio) Show in July

I am very excited about this. Chris Sickels from Red Nose Studio will be showcasing art at Manifest Gallery in Walnut Hills of Cincinnati from July 9th through August the 16th. Opens at 6pm.
I enjoy every show Manifest has provided for over a year now. This will add to the experience of the shows they have there.
If you are wondering where you have seen his work. Probably from Windows 7. He has an illustration photo as a choice to select as a background.
I enjoy his characters a lot. They are fun, daring to explore, inventive, and inspiring to say the least. I am looking forward to seeing his work on display in July.

Toy Collection

One of my past obsessions was collecting toys and figurines. A lot of them were either handed down, found or I purchased them myself. Through all the years growing up I still was able to keep a lot of my toys, keeping hold of those memories and displaying them in my dining room for visitors to see.
I thought I would post them up on here. These are not all of them however. I still have boxes at my mothers house.
It wasn't such a bad obsession, was it?

April Dr. Sketchy Cincinnati

April's Dr. Sketchy was an awesome turnout out. Almost every seat was full about. I am not sure if that was the biggest turnout or they just didn't have all the chairs out. It was a lot fun. It's hard to believe that Kelly, Jenny and Alyssa have been doing Bondaura for 2 years.
I thought I would post Thursday's Dr. Sketchy pictures. I can't recall if I have ever posted them here before since I usually just put them up on there Myspace and Photobucket for the girls. I might as well post them on here as well. :)

For those who haven't been to one before, you really should start coming. They have always been a lot of fun. :)

Sledding Finally

Went sledding today with friends at Mt. Storm Park with Maria, Chris, Bethany and Nate. Very Exciting time with friends. Afterwards had some homemade pizza at the McGregory house. Scrumptious.
Have to say though I am pretty worn out though. Want to go to Dance MF since I didn't get to go last month for the whole night. So, I am going to chill or try to warm up before I decide how to spend the rest of the night.

A group of Illustrators in Cincinnati are doing a book with Zombies and there very own stories and comic illustrations. But I am just going nuts about me getting to be involved ^_^
I thought I should post a few that will be put in the book that I finished over the weekend.
I will post and keep everyone up to date when the book is put out. :)
